Men's Health Week at the Recovery College

    Men's Health Week

From 9th June - 16th June it's Men's Health Week, and here at the RC we have a tonne of tips, links and general reminders to be excellent to yourself for all the men out there!

It's Day 1, and today we are posing the question:  Why Men's Mental Health Matters:

Men's mental health is crucial because:

    • It directly impacts well-being, relationships and quality of life
    • Men are significantly more likely to die by suicide than women, with suicide being a leading cause of death for men under 50
    • Traditional gender roles might discourage men from opening up about their emotions
    • Increase risk of substance abuse

If you feel like you need help or advice - the good news is there is plenty of information out there at your fingertips. A few of our favourites are:

    www.nationalvoices.org.uk/member/mens-health-forum-2
    www.matesinmind.org/training-and-resources/men-s-health-week-9-15-june-2025

And of course you can have a look at our Hub section on the Recovery College website: www.therecoverycollege.co.uk/the-rc-hub

Stay tuned as we continue to share our knowledge throughout the week.
