Movember: Growing Awareness, Sparking Conversations
This November, The Recovery College for the Black Country is joining the global Movember movement — a month dedicated to raising awareness around men's health, in particular mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.
Movember is more than just an excuse to grow a moustache — it's about starting conversations, breaking down stigma, and encouraging men to look after their health, both physically and mentally. Around the world, men are often less likely to reach out for help or speak about what's going on beneath the surface. Movember reminds us that it's okay to talk, to check in with friends, and to take action when something doesn't feel right.
Throughout November, the Recovery College will be sharing helpful hints, stories, resources, and activities inspired by the Movember message. Together, we'll explore ways to support wellbeing, build confidence in having open conversations, and create a culture of understanding and support for men across our communities.
So whether you're growing a mo, moving for a cause, or simply taking time to learn and listen — join us this Movember in shining a light on men's health and helping every man live a happier, healthier, longer life.
