Lisa's Message for Mental Health Awareness Week 2024

    Mental-Health-Awareness-Week-Lisa

At The Recovery College, Our staff love to support and encourage you on every step of your recovery journey. For this Mental Health Awareness Week, our staff want to encourage you to find #MomentsforMovement.  Today's message comes from Lisa, one of our Facilitators, she shares how she finds Moments for Movement in her life and the benefits of Being Active.

Hi I'm Lisa one of the facilitators at The Recovery College. One thing I enjoy for my wellbeing is keeping fit & active. I enjoy going to the gym regularly and going out walking to keep active and connect with nature.

Movement helps reduce my anxiety and stress, combat low mood and increase my self-esteem and helps me feel good on the inside and out.

    Benefits of being active:

    • It can make you feel happier
    • It's good for your muscles and bones
    • It can help towards losing weight
    • It can increase your energy levels
    • It can improve your skin health
    • Helps you sleep better
    • Reduces your risk of chronic disease/illness
    • It reduces pain
    • Improves your mood and reduces stress

Thank you Lisa for sharing your thoughts!
