    RC Hub Highlights - Stepping into Work and Staff Wellbeing

    September is often seen as a month of change, whether you are beginning a new journey in education or starting a new job. The Recovery College Hub is a platform full of resources that could help you navigate new changes in your life. Today, We're going to dive into two categories that can help, Stepping into Work and Staff Wellbeing.

    You might be wondering, What is the RC Hub?

    The RC Hub is a mental health, recovery, health and wellbeing resource library, for people living in the Black Country. It is ever-growing with new activities, leaflets, videos and other tools to help you.

    In our Stepping into Work category there are many resources to support you in your job search.

    In our Website tab, there are many links to organisations that can help you find work. Black Country Job Support is a service provided by Black Country Healthcare. They have hubs across the Black Country who can support you in many different ways, whether you are searching for work for the first time or have taken a leave of absence, they can help find a role that is suitable for you. Click here to view their website and access support: Black Country Job Support

    Another website to support you while seeking work is the National Careers Service. Whether you are looking for a career change, wanting to learn a new skill or take part in a training course, you can access all of this on their website. You can call their helpline for more support or start a webchat, an advisor is on hand to support you on your career journey. Access their website here: National Careers Service

    If you have access to Google Play or the App Store. There is a tab in Stepping to Work category full of apps for job seekers. Each app is used by thousands of employers, you can upload your CV and submit it. Apps (therecoverycollege.co.uk) These apps can help streamline the process of job searching, you can type in the town or postcode you would like to work in and the search engine will show you vacancies in that chosen area. 

    Sometimes your work life can be overwhelming and this can lead to feeling unwell, it is important to look after your wellbeing and practice self-care to help when you feel unwell.

    Many jobs involve sitting at a desk for long periods of time, this can lead to aches and pains. In this resource discover different  stretches you can do whilst sat at your desk to relieve aches and pains. Click here to learn more: Stretches to ease aches and pains

    The Recovery College is an educational learning environment for people who have an interest in, or personal difficulties with, mental health.

    All of our sessions are created with people who have lived experience of challenges with their own mental health along with carers and healthcare professionals.

    You do not need any formal qualifications or experience to attend the college. All of our courses are free of charge and open to anyone, aged 18 and over.
