A symbol of hope, remembrance, and change, the Knife Angel stands as a national monument against violence and aggression.

This is a 27-foot sculpture which represents the devastating effects of Knife Crime and the potential for transformation.

The Knife Angel sculpture has been brought to the borough by Sandwell Council and the Safer Sandwell Partnership working together with British Ironwork Centre, West Midlands Police and the West Midlands Violence Reduction Partnership (VRP).

The sculpture will be located in Oldbury Civic Square near to Sandwell Council House in Oldbury town centre.

It is worth taking a visit to see this statue.  "Its presence here in Sandwell provides a unique opportunity for residents, schools, local businesses, and organisations to reflect on the impacts of violence in our communities and to join forces in taking meaningful action against it." Sandwell Council (https://www.sandwell.gov.uk/KnifeAngel)

To raise awareness and educate the public, there will be a series of workshops to educate and empower us all to understand the dangers of knife crime and how we can help prevent it.

There is a Photograph and Art Competition where the best photographs and artworks symbolising unity and non-violence will be showcased across Sandwell Council's social media and displayed at the Closing Ceremony on 29th October. You can submit work using the hashtags #KnifeAngelPhotoCompetition or #ArtforPeace.

Join us in raising awareness about Knife Crime and promoting peace in our community by visiting the statue.

You can follow the Knife Angel story in Sandwell on social media with the #KnifeAngelSandwell hashtag.
