In May we celebrated Mental Health Awareness Week, from 9th – 15th May 2022 & the theme for this year was Loneliness.
As stated by the Mental Health Foundation "One in four adults feel lonely some or all of the time. There's no single cause and there's no one solution. After all, we're all different! But, the longer we feel lonely, the more we are at risk of mental health problems. Some people are also at higher risk of feeling lonely than others."
Our team also attended the Mental Health Awareness Week event at The Mander Centre, Wolverhampton and spoke with visitors about what we do, our courses and the mental health support/wellbeing services, available across the Black Country.
May 12th was International Nurses Day, a day where we celebrated all our colleagues within Black Country Healthcare & nurses throughout the NHS. Once again we thank you for your compassion and expertise which is shown everyday You are greatly appreciated
Our team also attended the #LookOutForWolverhampton event which is suicide prevention campaign. Their aim is to keep people safe by providing support on how to:
🧡 Look Out For a Loved One
🧡 Look Out For a Mate
🧡 Look Out For a Colleague
🧡 Look Out For Anyone We Know or Care About

It was great to be back speaking to people face to face, about The Recovery College, what we do & the support / services available within the Black Country.
Even though it was held at the start of June, we have to mention the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
To celebrate the Recovery College hosted a Jubilee Coffee & Quiz morning. This event was open to not only students, but anyone who wanted to celebrate the jubilee with us & find out more about the Recovery College from our staff, volunteers & students.
