Continuing our Day in the Life of series, Meet Dhiren, one of our facilitators!
At the Recovery College our team comes from a range of diverse professional backgrounds. Everyone brings their own lived experience into their roles, Dhiren began his journey working at the RC towards the end of 2024 and he is fitting right in!
Describe your Job Role here at the college
I'm a Facilitator. My role, along with a co-Facilitator, is to guide the sessions I am delivering and ensure the safety and wellbeing of students; to help create an environment where students feel comfortable to engage in the subject matter and know that what they share will be kept confidential (subject to certain limits); and to help create and deliver content that is meaningful and stimulating.
What are you enjoying about your role so far?
I'm enjoying meeting and getting to know staff, students and volunteers; and particularly engaging with and listening to students in the sessions and supporting them. In addition, the sessions have been interesting and varied.
What are you looking forward to?
I'm looking forward to delivering more aspects of the sessions I'm involved in, to form strong connections with the students, and to help each one them in their recovery journey.
Thank you Dhiren for taking the time to answer these questions.
