Co-production is one of the most important elements of our work at the Recovery College.  Co-production means working together to do something different. It is about people with different views and ideas coming together to make things better for everyone.

In the recovery college we take a co-production approach, meaning people with personal experience, including people overcoming distress and supporters (family members and friends) work in respectful partnerships with professionals to co-design, co-deliver and co-evaluate all aspects of the college.  That's why the latest guidance supplied by Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is so important. This guide is suitable for staff and anyone potentially interested in looking to co-produce in the future.  This great guide contains the following:

    • What is co-production?
    • 7 steps needed to co-produce
    • How does co-production differ from engagement?
    • Things to remember when co-producing
    • Co-production and autism
    • Examples of co-production
    • Myth Buster
    • Helpful resources and additional reading
