April is Stress Awareness Month.
Stress Awareness month is a national and annual campaign ran by The Stress Management Society to raise awareness of stress and how it impacts our wellbeing, to create a safe space for dialogues surrounding stress and to tackle, reduce and remove the stigma of stress.
At The Recovery College At The Recovery College, we offer a variety of courses where we discuss stress and how we can lower our stress levels and practice self care.
One technique to lower stress levels is by creating a Stress Relief Toolkit, Recovery College Principal Kerry Wilkes has shared what helps her to relieve stress. Check this out:
"My stress reliever is the gym. It always helps me to have time before the day starts to reflect and energise and prepare for the day ahead. However It's always good to have more than one way to relieve your stress, so create yourself a stress reliving tool kit.
Here are some of the things in my tool kit:
- Music
- Walking
- Meeting friends and family
- Spending time in nature
- Spending time with pets
What's in your stress-relief toolkit and how can you use it this April and moving forwards?"
Thank you for sharing Kerry!
Throughout this month you will hear from some of our team where we share what is in our stress relief toolkit.
