National Coming Out Day 2024

National Coming Out Day 2024 is an annual observance dedicated to celebrating and supporting individuals in the LGBTQ+ community.

It is a day of celebration and empowerment for LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies. It encourages people to embrace their true selves and live openly, free from fear and discrimination.

Here are some charities and resources local to the Black Country and beyond.

https://blgbt.org/ - "We offer a range of services for the LGBTQ+ Community in Birmingham and beyond." They have many events throughout October and year round. They also have a newsletter which you can subscribe to with an email address.

https://mindout.org.uk/ - "We work to improve the mental health and wellbeing of all LGBTQ communities and to make mental health a community concern." MindOut have an online chat service for people aged 18 and over.

https://lgbt.foundation/ - "We offer support to help hope and joy flourish in our communities. Our vision is a world where queer liberation creates meaningful change and a fairer society for us all."

At The Recovery College, We offer a LGBTQ+ Support Group, this is open to all students enrolled with us at the college.

The Recovery College is an educational learning environment for people who have an interest in, or personal difficulties with, mental health.

All of our sessions are created with people who have lived experience of challenges with their own mental health along with carers and healthcare professionals.

You do not need any formal qualifications or experience to attend the college. All of our courses are free of charge and open to anyone, aged 18 and over.
