One of the difficulties with stress is that people experience stress in different ways. This contributes to stress manifesting itself differently. Stress isn't avoidable but it is manageable, keeping a stress relief toolkit can be a great coping strategy to support you.
Today you can read what Kirstie keeps inside her toolkit. Perhaps this can give you some inspiration as you create your own!
- Walking and running
- Gardening and pottering about in the garden, just being outside
- Feeding and watching the birds
- Yoga
- Reading books usually a golden age murder mystery that I can just lose myself reading…… I also ponder about the suspects and who has done it..
- Sewing – nothing too complicated…repairing things, sewing buttons on…I save all these jobs up for a stressful day and listen to 1940s swing radio while I am sewing
- Listening to music – my stress release music tends to be old Jazz, swing, rhythm and blues and northern soul (the last two I sing along which also helps me)
Thank you Kirstie for sharing!
