This year's theme for Black History Month is "Reclaiming Narratives," and marks a significant shift towards recognising and correcting the narratives of Black history and culture. Across the Black Country and Birmingham there are events marking Black History Month.
At Wolverhampton Art Gallery, you can visit an exhibition titled 'A welcoming Table - Collaboration over Competition' , This exhibition is using storytelling and visual arts to amplify underrepresented voices, challenge stereotypes, and inspire positive change within Black communities.
This exhibition is open to the public on 4th and 5th October between 10:30am-4:30pm

"We will have 20 craft stalls showing a wide variety of handmade items, reflecting the rich culture and talents of our community. From traditional African and Caribbean crafts to more modern creations, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
The Cultural Craft Fair is not only a chance to celebrate the Black community's contributions to society, but also a time to reflect on the progress we've made and to honour the sacrifices of those who have helped build a more inclusive and diverse world."
